CASTING CALL (Short Film) – “SAFE HOUSE” – Two Protagonists – Jan 5–7 – Unpaid

Hi everyone,

We are looking to cast two actors for a shortfilm. Shooting will take place over three days in January at a farm estate in Brandenburg. Cast and crew will be staying at the property for the duration of the shoot.

NOTE: The two lead roles were originally conceived as male, but we are open to actors of all genders and welcome diverse interpretations of the characters.

Title: SAFE HOUSE
Genre: Drama/Comedy — Duration: 10-12 minutes — Location: Brandenburg — Shoot Dates: January 5–7 — Production Type: Independent / No-Budget — Compensation: Unpaid. Travel, Accommodation, Food Provided. Materials can be used for personal showreels.

Logline: Two young people (Angel & Pocket) lay low at a designated safe house in Brandenburg, owned by Colin, an eccentric homesteader (already cast). Desperate for news about the act they have committed, Angel and Pocket find that Colin’s off-the-grid home offers no possibilities of communication with the outside world. While they attempt to fix an ancient radio, they begin to wonder if Colin is as trustworthy as they thought.

Casting: Two actors, all genders, age bracket: 20s–30s

Character Descriptions:
ANGEL, 24. A prankster and a punk with a Bacchanalian spirit, a warm heart, and a healthy appetite. Life is one big adventure. A machine Angel can’t fix hasn’t been built yet.
POCKET, 26. A die-hard lefty organizer with a strong sense of justice. An old-school nerd for board games, maps, comic books, and psytrance. Pocket puts the “Type A” in Anarchism. Mistakes are things other people make.

Filmmakers:
Oskar Levis is a graduate of Glasgow University’s School of Culture and Creative Arts and worked as a theater assistant director at the Vagantenbühne and the Deutsches Theater in Berlin.
Allegra Stodolsky is a graduate of the Prague Film School (FAMU) and her documentary ‘Fittko: Resistance and Exile’ recently premiered at the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival.
